Hi my name is Brandi. And my husband and I just recently moved to a new house with 5 acres. 3 of those acres are fenced for my 2 horses.
I have read that chickens and horses get along great... chicken help with bug control, break up poop piles etc...
I am new to chickens and wanted to learn all I can before diving right into raising/keeping chickens. I have done some research on breeds and I am looking at the Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpingtons and Cinnamon Queens... I live in Oklahoma we can have hot summers and very cold winters with freezing rain/sleet...
I have 2 Missouri Foxtrotters - I like to ride and work with my horses... I have 4 dogs a German Shepherd Tex, Sawyer mix breed, Roxy mix breed and Rowdy Aussie/Border Collie mix. I am kinda concerned with Sawyer and Tex which are showing some herding behaviors..
