Behold my forum skills.)

Anyways, I'm Feathyr, hobomom's daughter. She decided it was time I quit stealing - er, borrowing her account and create my own.

I've been raising chickens of varying breeds for eight years; my favorites are heritage RIR, Favorelles, Easter Eggers, Silkies, and Welsumers. In terms of other animals I have a quarter horse gelding, goats, dogs, cats, a goose, and a duck. My other interests aside from chickens include all forms of art, reading, writing, ballet, and modern dance.

Welcome to BYC, Feathyr! Glad you decided to join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining. I've had all of your favorite breeds except the Faverolles, but I had a good friend and neighbor who raised Faverolles and they were as gentle as any breed I've had. His children made lap pets out of them. I love the chocolate eggs of the Welsummers. The Easter Eggers are my granddaughter's favorites. She loves their colored eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

yikes! a barnyard full. yeah i gotta say i love my faverole roosters, so funny they try and rule and the hens let them have it. they run away like a football linebacker. i have 3 and though i have heard its not usual, they are true pussycats. my welsumers are sneaky, they fly out of the yard all the time and cry until i put them back. they got a wing clipping today. i too have silkies, sweet and quiet. i have a big variety. and enjoy each and every breed. except the quineas, starting to regret them, so noisey and fuss for not reason most of the time. welcome, and enjoy all the good advice and learning
