Howdy,
I am new to backyardchickens.com. Many years ago as a volunteer in Ghana my husband and I raised chickens for meat and eggs. It was very different then what we need/want to be doing now.
Now we live in New England and are not allowed to have roosters in our neighborhood. We decided to have a small flock for eggs. We purchased sexed chicks 3 Ameraucanas (currently 8 weeks) and 4 Lavender Opringtons (10 weeks) I think two of these are roos
My adult children are also very interested it was a nice family summer project building coop and enclosed run. We have Coyotes and rules so we can't free range.
Looking forward to learning with you all.
Beth
