(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
had chickens on and off since childhood, now have guineafowl

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
6 guineas and some eggs in the incubator šŸ¤ž

(3) What breeds do you have?
just the guineas! I think they are pearl ones. Husband bought them on a whim(!) but they are part of the family now.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I loved learning about their individual characters and having constant company in the garden. The guineas are quite different, they are about a year old now and completely bonkers by comparison, these guys seem fairly un-tameable but they will stop freaking out about things if i coo at them 😊 hoping that if we hatch some ourselves they may be a LITTLE bit calmer?!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I have 5 horses, there's not a lot of time for anything else :D

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I work from home so have been listening to this flipping incubator 24/7 for 4 weeks now... and it just dawned on me that the keets (if any hatch) will be even more noisy on my work calls 🤣

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
Googling things just kept bringing up this forum. I feel like i might need advice about hatching...

Best wishes for hatching those soon-to-be-noisier keets! I know nothing about hatching guineas. But keeping your sense of humor will be helpful, I believe, even if these also are "bonkers." :) Looking forward to hearing how things progress.

Welcome to BYC! I'm sure someone here will be able to offer all the advice you want and need.
