New member says hi!

Hi all! I'm newly signed up to the site but have gone on here for a few weeks for research and info. I have 7 week old pullets, 3 ameraucanas and 3 silver laced wyandottes. Chickens have been on my family farm for over 100 years but this is my first time I owned my own. Hubby made a super cute coop and we put them in it yesterday. They went on the roosting bars for a few hours but have not been back on them again. Is this normal? Thanks!

Welcome! I have Americaunas and Wyandottes in my flock too! I wouldnt worry about roosting. The older they get, the more they will use the roosts. Enjoy your new girls!

You birds are still babies, they probably just tried the roosts out of curiosity. Later they will discover it's great for them to have "overnight roost parties,"
