In the Brooder
Hi! I am Paige from Brandon, FL, and a fairly new duck mom! I inherited ducks when someone dropped them in our community pond and they started getting
attacked by predators. I started working with them and feeding them so I could get them to hutch up at night for safety. Unfortunately, this took some time and a few of the ducks were lost to predators. Phe, my Indian Runner is the only duck to survive and she is one tough cookie!! She even outsmarted an alligator for 3 days. Due to all of these concerns, I spoke to my HOA and was able to build a large community duck hutch off the side of my house to give Phe permanent shelter. I just got her a mate as well so she has company. She is a 2-month-old female Cayuga named Indi and she is a beauty! I am a big animal lover and have 4 huskies and never knew how smart and entertaining ducks can be!!!
