New Member with Baby Duck Question

Hi everyone,

Long time reader, first time member. BYC is such a great resource for all my questions, but now I actually had the need to post one - so first I will introduce myself. Kim, 40, stay at home mom with 5 yo daughter. I have 7 chickens and have had chickens for about 3 years now. This year we decided to get Indian Runner ducks. Got some eggs, have incubated them, today is day 28. Two have external pipping and I can hear one chirping in there. The pip started last night at 8 - that's when I noticed it. So everything I've read says that after the external pipping it can be up to 72 hours before they actually hatch. One egg has made a little progress and the other still looks the same. If there is no progress, when do I intervene?
