We just got our first chicks March of 2017. We have 5 girls right now. 3 lavender orpington (Dorothy, Blanche and Rose) 1 Brown sex link (Henrietta) and 1 white silkie (King Bob... she was named by our 7 year old son)
We found out about BackYardChickens.com through a google search. I am an Industrial Wastewater Operator for a securities company and my wife is an amazing hairstylist who is currently a stay at home mom to our 5 sons, ages 14,12,9,7&2! One of our other loves is music!

Oh, if you haven't done so already, PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. Old folks like me :old will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
