Hello everyone I'm a new member, a seventy-six-year-old man who lives not too far on the outskirts of the Sandy Creek Ranch development in Bay County Florida. I live alone on a 10 acre homestead, well not completely alone, I have two pet cats. I'm not completely new to raising chickens. I raised chickens years ago but haven't done so recently. I presently have a few roosters and hens, and have a few eggs in an incubator which hopefully will hatch within a couple of days. The chickens I have right now are mixed breeds. But I have decided to start raising game fowl. I started looking around on the Internet for forums where I could get information to help me with my new endeavor. I joined a few, but they are more geared towards advanced breeders of the game fowls. My interest is just having them for the way they look. I kept on looking and found this forum "backyardchickens.com", and I feel that this forum will be better for me at my present level of experience. Not to imply that there is not a high level of knowledge and experience present here. It's just that there is also room for beginners here.
