I am mother2stressed. A username that I have been using for many years. I am now a grandmother which is far from being stressed. I love my grandkids and enjoy them when they come to visit. I was raised in a chicken farm but that was ions ago. I remember being chased by a rooster and helping collect the eggs but other than that I have no clue about backyard chickens. I inherited my grand daughters Easter chick. Cookie is now 6 months old and looks beautiful. I've thought about taking her to a farm but Keira my granddaughter is very attached to cookie. Cookie is very easy to handle and lives to be held. We are expecting our first heavy snow here in Colorado on Sunday so we've been spending the last two days making the coop snug and warm. We are not using heat lamps or warmers of any kind. Cookie has acclimated well to the cooler weather. Well that's me.

Keeping Cookie's coop dry and well ventilated is the key to her being comfortable during winter. Have you considered getting her a couple of friends so she isn't all alone?
