Hey, My name is Reed, and I'm new on BYC.
I've raised chickens,ducks,geese,guineas,Swans, and even Emu's since I was a kid. Emu's were the worst I've ever raised. I hatched them myself from a few eggs somebody gave me. They weren't personable as chicks, and they grew up to be big, dumb, and crazy birds. They would circle around their large pen, and then changed direction. They were constantly "belly bumping" and rolling over on their backs. That wasn't bad enough, but they couldn't figure out how to get up.They ate lots of food and weren't good pets.
I still love birds and animals, and still hatch eggs. I'm having problems with my old small, Brower circular incubator. The heating element burned out and I can't find a place to sell parts. If anybody knows an answer to this, please drop me a line.Thanks so much, Reed
