Hi all. I am a pet sitter and have cared for horses, dogs, cats and a few chickens. While hiking in a wooded area in Atlanta, we found this chicken. A silky? We didn't want to leave it there, so we brought it home. Easy to catch and friendly. I need to find a home for it, and there were no houses nearby the area where it was found. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

If it has truly crowed a few times it should be a rooster unless you are hearing a hen's egg song and mistaking it for a crow.

Silkies are a popular breed if you put up an ad on Craigslist or FB poultry group you shouldn’t have any trouble finding him a home if he’s crowed most likely a rooster.
