Hi all-
New member to BYC, but have been getting great info here over the past few years. Have been raising chickens for 10+ years, and I'm interested in raising turkeys as pets. Wondering if anyone can suggest a breed that is best as pet. Currently have three turkeys we purchased from TSC that are production birds. Enjoying them as pets very much, but we realize they will need to be processed sometime soon. Was hoping for suggestions for suitable pet breeds of turkey that we can enjoy longer. Thanks!

The APA rightfully only recognizes the breed Turkey. They currently recognize 8 varieties of the breed Turkey. There are many more possible varieties.
