1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I have had chickens for the past 11 years. I absolutely love them.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 11
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have Brahma's, Maran's, blue and green egg layers and 4 new ex-batts.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Everything. We always hatch a few out for the kids each year too.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I am also a beekeeper and an avid reader.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have 4 kids. We have a mini Noah's ark consisting of cats, chickens, rabbits, dogs, bees and the occasional hedgehog. I am a qualified human nurse and a very soon to be qualified vet nurse too.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Whenever I look for answers to my questions BYC pops up. I think I was a member many years ago but have forgotten the log in.

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
