We were given a gosling last year. It was the last one that had survived the crows so we said yes when asked if we'd like it. I've only ever had chooks. Ducy lived inside and slept in a box near my daughter's pillow at night and was carried around and cuddled all day. She had separation anxiety if you left her alone so we never did. She seemed herself at about 3 months old, happy to sit in the sun and snooze. We gave her a child's paddle pond and she loved that. We knew nothing about raising geese. She developed angel wing(as I found out from this group) we thought she had damaged it. so we bandaged it up and changed her diet. After 3 days we took it off and she has been good since.
