I am a new member. I would like to build a small coop and run for about 4 chickens. My mom raised chickens when I was young and I'd like to do it now. This seems like a great group with lots of helpful info. looking foreword to it....

Welcome to BYC! good luck with starting a flock. There is plenty of information here on coops. Make sure you build your coop bigger than you think you will need. If you are like most folks there is always chance you will get more chickens than what you expected.

Hi, you can find 100's of coops built by members here: chicken-coops.12. To keep cost down you might want to consider repurposing a shed or children's playhouse or even use pallets.
