(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
No, I’ve had backyard chickens in the past, when I was in middle school. I’m wanting them again, but wanting to have silkies and other bantams.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Currently I don’t have chickens but would love to have at least 4. I just bought a little tikes playhouse for my new chicken coop that I’ll be building.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I don’t have chickens at the moment, but would love to have silkies and other bantams
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love getting ideas from Pinterest on how to raise backyard chickens, but when I had them in middle school I loved watching them take dust baths and collecting eggs. Also giving them most of the leftovers from dinner and giving them mealworms.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love having a garden every year and decided I’m going to grow my own chicken feed/herbs this time.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I currently live with my mom and have two dogs(Scheyenne(Aussie) and Scharley(Papillon)) I will be working at a dog bakery/grooming place called Treats Unleashed and am excited.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community
I found BYC on Pinterest and have known about it since I first had chickens back in middle school. I decided to join because I’m going to build my own chicken coop and love getting ideas off of BYC
