Hi! New member hear! I first got chickens in spring 2021, along with some “Guinea keats” that turned out to be turkeys, which we raised & butchered. Right now we have 6 hens & a rooster but hoping for a batch of guineas plus some new chicks this spring. Our handsome rooster is an orphington/barred rock cross and we have a nice mix of hens…buff orphington, black sex-linked, sapphire gem, sapphire gem olive egger, & 2 Americaunas. Planning on adding some Marens and Biefelder/jubilee crosses (and maybe pure jubilee orphington too). I love how my young kiddos can help with the chickens & learn about animal husbandry, plus chickens have such fun personalities. I also have horses & love riding, gardening, food preservation and sewing!
