I was raised and took care of chickens most of my early ages and teenage life. My grandkids wanted some so last week we went to TSC locally and got 5 babies. Friday I went and got 5 grown ones. Saturday went and got 7 more babies from another feed store. So in 3 days we had 16 chickens. I got a small pen for my grown ones now. But working on a coop from my old pop up camper and turning it into a coop and building a 14x 30 foot run. The grown ones are wyandottes and easter eggers. The babies are 2 easter eggers, 2 isa browns, 5 black australorps, and 2 columbias rock cross. I am having a hard time looking for some RIR laying all ready. Does not seem to be as popular as they were when I was growing up. Looking forward to learning and seeing up to date things on this site

Wanrning. Unsolicited advise:
I'd stick to buying chicks. The more adults you bring in, the higher your risk for introducing a respiratory or other illness into your flock. It is also easier to integrate younger ones into the existing flock.
