Hello, I'm Aivars and I'm a new member in the forum. I used to have chickens (6 Dorking hens and one awesome rooster named Francesco) but I also have 3 boys (still do
)who play hockey so we had to make a choice. The chickens lost. Now that the boys are older and MUCH larger, my wife and I want to get back into raising chickens. Three teenagers scarfing 4 eggs each for breakfast or dinner or snacks makes getting back into chickens an imperative!
We have an Aussie shepherd/Border collie mix named Mater and I think he'll be keen to start herding something that may actually listen.
I had used the site during my first try at chicken raising and am now ready to glean as much new info and ideas as I can. No chickens yet but will have a temporary coop and birds soon - I hope!
