(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, I am very new to chickens. We have had them for about 4 weeks now.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have one hen that was getting picked on at a friends farm and then I have 8 chicks right now, but only keeping 4-5 of them as the rest are my neighbors.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have a cuckoo maran, black australorp, buff Orpington, Easter egger and Plymouth Rock.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching my kids interact with them has been my favorite so far. They are emotional support animals for my son and he is sooooo much calmer around them.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married with 2 kids, one boy and one girl who are 6 and 3. I have one dog. I am a registered nurse. We live in Ohio.
