Hello!
I’m in a new season of life or maybe just an experimental phase. I started with composting, then made raised beds for gardening and have been trying to learn how to keep plants alive in our hot Texas summers. I received a gift from my son at the end of June of 7 baby chicks that came in the mail. He built a chicken coop with run and all is going well until we found out one is a rooster and is crowing. I need to find a home because I live in the suburbs and I’m certain they are going to fine us or something. It’s sad to not have the freedom of choice on your own property. We do have an HOA. I’m struggling with my chicken books and just need real people to give their experience of how to take care of chickens. Thanks for listening!

Welcome to BYC!!

Hello, and welcome! Good luck with your flock and in re-homing your rooster! Do you happen to know what breed that he is?
It’s my mystery chick so I don’t know what breed he is but I will attach a pic.
He is actually our favorite one!
