Hello All, I am new here. I have been raising chickens since I was little. took like a 30 years break. Now my family is on year three with chickens. We have a huge variety of hens. We just picked up 35 chickens from the hatchery and today the 3rd one has passed away. Today we noticed a clear fluid coming from her mouth. Can anyone help identify what was wrong with her? She wouldnt stand up, eat or drink. We gave her electrolytes with a fropper and she seemed to be getting better and then 3 hours later she died.

Glad to meet you, and welcome to BYC. So sorry for your loss! :hugs

You should post your problem (with photos if you have them) to the Forum for Emergencies & Diseases. It might be worth your while to send the little corpse for a necropsy (a post mortem) because some diseases will run right through a flock, and you might better quarantine those new chickens! Here is a list of necropsy labs by state. The websites will usually tell you how much (if any) they charge, and how to set it up.
