Hi. My non-profit organization is Aayden's PLAYce. We started the chick hatch program this year due to it being eliminated from our school system after Covid. We just started March of this year and have hatched 3 batches of Silkie White Bantams. We have successfully hatched 13/29 and still pipping as we "post".
We started this as a learning project for the kids but fell in love with the process and of course, the cute little chickies we hatched and now care for. This is a great experience for my program families as well as my own family. We love it and we will continue to raise these beautiful chickens.
I have learned so much through these first 3 batches and there is so much more to learn. I love this forum because it has definitely guided me to having a much higher hatch rate and personality and care gauge when it comes to our chick-babies!
I found this community by googling and reading EVERY crazy myth and article I could find about hatching and raising chicks since December 2021 . Once I started reading REAL remedies, suggestions and proven methods here, I haven't googled anywhere else! Great to be a member. Happy hatching!
