I'm going to order a dozen chickens from Agway this spring and start them in a closet in my apartment. I'm originally from Minnesota and live in Pennsylvania now and any recommendations for indoor chickens would be much appreciated!

What breeds are you getting?

Light Brahma, Olive Eggers, Barnvelders, Buff Orpington, Rhode Island Red, Silver Laced Wyandottes, Americana, Cuckoo maran and Blue Laced Gold Wyandottes. At the Agway in Butler Pennsylvania I got one of each, but five are the ones coming out in the 31st are already sold out.

I would not keep any of the breeds of chickens you listed as indoor chickens. They belong outside. They don't belong in your apartment.

Welcome to BYC, and good luck with your chicks. You have no idea how quickly they will grow and the dust/dander they will create. Move them to their outside coop with supplemental heat as soon as is possible.
