Hello I’m a new member, looking after my son’s chickens at the moment, have usually had chickens, all different kinds, but have none of my own at the moment. These ones are a bit special - show birds - Belgian C’uccles - they are so sweet. One of the clutch that hatched about five months ago got a respiratory illness, recovered from that and a few weeks ago, at the end of November, developed splayed legs. So I’ve been nursing it (as my son is away) and trying everything to get it well again. It is such a lovely natured bird. I’ve got its legs in a splint made with a straw and rubber band, and want to do more to strengthen its legs. I’m becoming I hope expert at physiotherapy. I’ve posted about the issue in another thread. Anyway, I came across this site a few years ago, as chickens fascinate me. They have so much personality.
and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.
to have you here with us. Enjoy your time here at BYC!
