Hello all, I am new at this and have learned a lot from reading all your post. Thank you and I am looking forward to participating on this site. Well I am beginning with an older model incubator Brower still air. I have a small flock of brown egg layers and a large enough coop for many more. I had to buy this incubator on ebay because my dad had one just like it...unfortunately I didn't pay enough attention when he was hatching turkey eggs among others, I know he had hatches, but don't remember his trial and errors...My bator hangs at 37.5 C 95.5 F. My thermometer sits at egg level and I am trying to get the temp to 100 F or do I need to hit the 101.5 exactly? I don't have any eggs in it yet. Expect them by Monday from McMurray hatchery. I also have 4 Pekin duck eggs coming...I have learned the temp is the same, but of course incubation time is 28 days...so I hope I can pull this off...all your help is greatly appreciated.

I have a hova-bator incubator with the forced air. I bought a used Brower brooder and am happy with it, well...............it's in my cabin.

my duck eggs just arrived and I have them resting small side down in a egg carton. I will let them rest for at least 8 hours which means about midnight. Should I let them rest till early am about 7 or 8? I did hear someone say they like to start at bedtime? My chick eggs will be here on Monday. Also I read to spray duck eggs with water twice a week when checking fertility and checking and filling water. I would appreciate any more info when it comes to the 18th and 25th day for ducklings LOCK DOWN and DECREASING TEMP. THANK u all so much.
