Hi, I have recently become a chicken owner ( mainly for a science project) but it will be a long-term comitment. I have 5 hens and a rooster. They are a cross between Cornish and Rhode Island Red. They eat great and lay like crazy. The rooster dose pull the feathers out of one girl tho. I am incubating 26 eggs right now in a little giant incubator, and I turn them myself. The hatch date on 9 of them is Christmas. I eventually would like to keep some of the hatchlings to build my flock even larger.

Oh' and also I am a reptile breeder, so I am not new to eggs, just turning them which is a big "NO-NO" when it comes to reptiles.

Welcome to BYC! Science project, eh? Many a BYC-er started that way. I think the entire thing got started that way come to think of it.
You will be in good company. There are a lot of reptile people on here too!
