(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to keeping chickens. My family and I recently moved to a new home with 9+ acres. I soon got my 15 beautiful girls.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 15 hens
(3) What breeds do you have? We have 5 Buff Orpingtons, 3 Americaunas, 3 Sliver-spangled Hamburgs, 2 Wellsummers, and 2 RIR.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? I am looking for Blue or Lavender Orpingtons.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Camping, reading, caring for my animals, spending time with my family and outdoors.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married with 3 wonderful boys. We have a "mini farm" of animals: 3 freshwater fish, 1 cockatiel, 2 leopard geckos, 4 dogs, 2 cats, and 15 chickens. I am a Special Education teacher for 7th graders. We have just moved into our DREAM house and land. I love my chickens. I call them my "girls". They always come to "talk to me about their day". They are so funny.
