My husband and I decided to get our three kids some chicks for Easter this year. We got four Hyline brown chicks from our local pet store Thursday night and are loving them so far.

I was "surfing" the web to find out more about raising the chicks and found this site. Right now the chicks are the only pets we have besides our cat.

The kids seem to LOVE the chicks so far and they don't want to leave them alone. They are so attached to them already.

Any advice that someone can give us would be greatly appreciated! We really want to make this an experience that our kids will remember when they are older.

Thanks!

Michelle

Just a couple tips, we put their feeders and waterers on 2x4's to help keep them from getting wood shavings in them. If you bought them at a pet store make sure they didn't sell you cedar shavings.

From Alabama. Did you get any care instructions with your chicks. If not, ask away ? Everyone here is great about giving advice to newbies !
