Hi everyone! First I would like to thank you for creating this forum and accepting me as a member as it has been super helpful for me in my new journey! I am a single mom of a beautiful 9 year old little girl who moved to Florida from NJ about 6 years ago. I am super creative and love to bake! Now, I am hooked on rescuing duck eggs as I have found one before this one a year ago, come to find it wasn't fertile.
I was super excited too! Anyway fast forward to a few weeks ago (September 16th to be exact). My friend found 3 eggs near his front door. Believe to be MOSCOVY eggs! Maintenance was going to destroy them, so I told him to bring them to me! I have incubated them at 99 degrees and 60% humidity...unfortunately 2 didn't make it
the embryos were stuck to the side of the shell. After doing A LOT...I mean A LOT of research I can only imagine it was because the humidity wasn't high enough as I didn't have a hygrometer and only went by sight. (Still learning) The 3rd egg (my daughter named Nugget) is at day 26 moving a lot and doing well! However, my concern is the air cell seems to be a lot smaller than it's supposed to be. If you see image 2 it looks like day 12 and from my understanding it is supposed to be 1/3 of the egg size by now , but other sites say it still has time to grow. I decreased the humidity for 3 days and it got a lot bigger. I am getting super nervous and need to know what to do to keep this baby alive!! Please help! Thank you!
