New nest box questions

I previously had one nest boxes for 7 chickens. Now that they are all laying, I built a three compartment box yesterday and removed the old nest. Will this cause problems? Will they stop laying or lay outside or on the ground?

It is hard to predict.

I have some that dont seem to get it.

Others, add a nest box one day, and they are all in it the next.

Currently, the coop with the most boxes is the one with eggs on the floor.

I put a box in with a group of araucanas a week ago, and yesterday I found four hens all piled in at the same time.

They will eventually get it all figured out.

Don't be surprised if they only use one of the boxes. Seems that there is some invisible attraction.

yah, I actually had three boxes before, but I said one because NO ONE ever used the other two. I thought maybe I made them to small
