Idiot me. I was moving her to new pen and she freaked in the carrier she was in (wire cage by seller) and she has scraped the skin off of her head in about a 1.5 inch by 1/2 inch. You can see red, but no blood dripping. So what do I do now? It is a warmspell here. Not seeing flies, just a few ladybugs and one moth. She seems ok , except for the wound. Will it just scab over and best left alone and watch it? I'd be worried about flies if it were later in the year... I only have like a wound powder (blue from the horses)... or neosporin creme. But she doesn't know me and I am thinking let her alone and just keep an eye on it.(I raise waterfowl) . She is in a pretty clean, rubber matted temporary pen for now...Oh, and I took the hose and put it on a gentle spray and she seemed to be ok with me lightly spraying her head. The wound is above her eye, next to the comb , so don't know that I could clean it with anything that may get in her eye.

If you haven't done anything by now, don't. It will heal on its own and be fine.
Thanks, I know if you are going to stitch skin ,you have to do it when it is fresh, and I didn't have anyone here to help, and she is new.... I am a fan of not using meds, unless absolutely necessary. She is eating and drinking, and normal poo... and it is above her eye....
