Hi,
We are very new to this and have a 3yr hen, seemingly fine on all other fronts but has one limp/paralised foot. It doesn't appear broken or to hurt her when we touch it, she just won't use it. We have her in a crate in the kitchen eating all her favs but it's been days and nothing seems to be improving.
What should we do? Any ideas would be great!

Was she walking normally before you noticed this? Do you have high roosts, or could she have been hurt jumping off of something? Was she vaccinated for Mareks disease? Mareks can cause paralysis in one or both legs or wings. An injury to the sciatic nerve with a leg injury could be possible. I would give 1/4 tablet daily of human vitamin B complex for a couple of weeks to see if there is any improvement. Is she able to get to food and water?

OH, thanks so much for the reply. Being newbs I could not imagine giving her a pill so I went to Natural Grocer, got a liquid version of Vit B Complex (which was digusting when I tasted it lol!) and mixed it with her dried worms. She ate the lot!
And the Roost is 5ft?

You won't believe this, after a week in the crate and half an hour after her Vit B worms........ she opened her foot up and put a little weight on it!!!. Had to be a coincidence but still.
OK, bring the roosts down then........
