I’m a new chicken momma of two adorable silkie chicks. Got them May 18th, making them about 7 weeks now. They are indoor pets, so I would like to know any tips for raising indoor chickens. Also any signs to look out for, and the do’s and don’ts in general.

Also, we are still not sure if we have hens or roosters, and I wonder if anyone is experienced in sexing silkie chicks. I attached pictures: Ash (left) is the blue silkie, is shorter and fuller built but less head feathers. Lupe (right) is the partridge pattern, taller, thinner and has a big mohawk coming in haha.
There’s also more pics/videos of them on tik tok @homeofpeeps that were taken as they grew in real time.

Any tips are appreciated, thank you peeps! 🐄🫶

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Your babies are adorable! ā™„ļø I'm sure many of us have let our chickens in our homes, I am horribly guilty of feeding them in the kitchen and other places around the house, bathing them in the sink and letting them generally wander around. 🤣 But they live outside. This said, here is an article written about house chickens from one of our members that might give you some tips... https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...ns-about-having-chickens-in-your-house.66748/

Enjoy those cutie pies and welcome to our community!
