Hi, um there was a template here somewhere but, it looked really boring.
Hi, I'm Jill, and I have a problem. No wait, I don't have a problem because I have an enabler. Ung that sounds even worse, forget I said anything...
Hi, I'm Jill, and I have chickens (whew).
I have an old flock of elders consisting of the most perfect australorp rooster, his austrawhite daughter, a blue leghorn, and a blue rock. These are the remaining members of a once 20 strong beautiful mixed flock.
Having just moved from the Oregon coast to the southern willamette valley, plus increasing property size from 1/2 acre to 6 acres, I felt it was time for new chickens.
I now have several chicks in the brooder:
4 dark brahma pullets and 1 cockerel
4 buff brahma pullets and 1 cockerel
2 light brahma pullets
5 brown leghorn pullets
4 buff Plymouth rocks
I also have another order coming May 26 for 16 more.
There's 2 goslings and 2 ducklings in the greenhouse plus 2 more ducklings coming in june.
As you can see I have it well under control and can stop any time.
I have a few other pets and livestock as well. I've done okay keeping them on 1/2 acre, I think. I'll be happy to see them spread out with real space to forage.
So, I guess that's it. I'm looking forward to talking with everyone and hearing about everyone's experience.
