One of my hobbies is taking photographs and my subjects are often my animals. My phone is filled with 2000 pictures of mostly my kitties (I have three). I used to take loads of pictures of my rabbits, but they are no longer with me (RIP Skye and Sadie). I've had my chicks for about a week now, so they've become my new subject. I've learned that it is SO hard to take pictures of chicks, but luckily I have the patience and all the time in the world. Here's the best of the pics:

This is Betty Lou. She is a white marans chick. She is just slightly smaller than her sister, Elsa, and it is very difficult to tell them apart sometimes. The biggest difference is Betty keeps herself much cleaner.

This is Daisy, a blue andalusian. Daisy is the friendliest, and will trample over the others to get to your hand (she's always looking for treats). She has splash coloring.

Below is Dixie Chick. Dixie is also a blue andalusian. She is very flighty and loves to try to escape. She once gave me a heart attack because I thought she had figured out a way out of the brooder because I only counted 7 chicks. Turns out she had just gotten stuck in the feeder.

April, a salmon faverolle, is below. She is one of the prettiest I think and I'm anxious to see her full grown. She is the most feathered, and is growing the feathers on her head now (the others aren't quite there yet). April is also really friendly, but doesn't come up to me like Daisy does.

Pepper is an easter egger chick. She is the largest of all the babies. I'm really excited to see her full grown too, because she's already changed so much in the week that I've had her. I love her face, for some reason it's just so cute!

Below is Elsa. She is a gorgeous white marans. You can kind of see the dirtiness of her feathers in that picture. She's actually a lot cleaner than she usually is in this photo. Elsa is pretty shy, and very quiet but she doesn't mind being picked up.

Tot is a salmon faverolles. She is the most feisty. She's also the smallest of the bunch. Tot likes to peck me, a lot. She's just so cute though, I can't be mad for long. Here she's pictured trying to get a better look at my iPhone.

Tater is an Easter Egger chick. Tater loves perching on my arm as I walk around. You can always find her roosting on the feeder in the morning, fresh chicken poop in the feed. She's a pain in the butt sometimes with that habit but she's too pretty to be annoyed by.

Elsa and Tater.

Here's a rare picture of Tot, not acting like a big girl. She was startled by a bird chirping. She'd be so embarrassed if she knew I was posting this picture (if chickens could be embarrassed

That's the best of them! Have you ever had a photo shoot with your chickens?
