Hi, we are newbies. Have used BYC to get us started in the fascinating world of chicken raising. My husband and I live in Eastern North Carolina. I am a high school science teacher and my husband is a stationary engineer at a pharmaceutical company. Our youngest is getting ready to graduate high school, so we decided to embark on a new project to keep us from having "empty nest" syndrome too bad. I already have 2 cats, a dog, a parakeet, a ball python and a bearded dragon. 10 chickens should be a piece of cake. Hahaha. We have learned that nothing is easy! Or cheap in the world of chickens. We are currently waiting to see how weather proof our new coop is. Expecting tornadoes tomorrow.
