Hi!
I purchased some 3 month old Barred Rock Pullets yesterday evening and one has continually pecked the hardware cloth on coop and injured her beak. I don't know how to get her to stop. She keep bleeding and I keep cleaning her up and she does it again. I got her and one of her sisters and she stays in coop today. I think they are scared of my Pyrenees 9 month old pup as well. Any suggestions?

Photo is of the one that is stayed ng in coop

What is on the outside of the hardware cloth? Any plants, grass, bugs that she may be trying to reach?
Or is she running into the hardware cloth and injuring herself because of the dog?

Things to observe and think about.
I haven't cought her doing it. I just see the blood on the hardware cloth. I think it might be the dog. I am trying to teach him to leave them alone. He loves to play with chickens and that is hard to break. She finally is up in the coop with her sister and hasn't come out.

She may be running into the wire trying to get away from the dog.

I don't have any experience with LGD's, you may want to ask for some tips on training him around the coop. He's young.
