Agreed about the place in question breeding/working with breeders who are purely in it to make money with little to no concern for dogs or potential owners. That places like this are allowed to continuously do business (note, I have seen shelters run in the same manner with the same complaints, they just don't breed the sick animals they sell or work directly with breeders...they may import them however...) says quite a bit about not just how welfare laws aren't really applied to what they are originally said to apply to, but also that we have pretty embarrassingly poor consumer protections. That said, be careful about while fired up emotionally. HSUS is not about *welfare* and responsible breeding. The last link there shows an assortment of random images and no facts to be seen. I don't doubt that the area could potentially harbor profiting off of sick dogs. I do however, doubt that the concern merely lies with that. The following quote in particular tells me all I need to know:
' Regardless, it's horrific to think that as recently as 2009, courts in Pennsylvania ruled that it was legal -- if disturbing -- for people to kill their pets if they wanted to.'
Not animal welfare, but the other unmentionable on this forum.
Poultry keeper: Your new pup is adorable! I hope she will grow up healthy and sound, as many other dogs from her place of purchase have according to reviews. I don't know much about the breed, but they always catch my interest when I see one trot on by.
