Hello,
I am going to be getting my first quad of quails in May. I've done some research and I think I should by ready by then. What I'm wondering is, was there any surprises or doe thing you wish you knew, or wish you had done with your quails when you got them? :)

The thing about poultry is, that every flock is different. So it can be a "learn as you go" thing. The birds will have you trained in no time!

I wish I knew how loud the males coturnix call would be .... I would have waited two more weeks to start the hatch process. I know they handle the cold but I wanted to wait till the freezing temps were over for the season and they could be outside. I'm used to it now but it's a shock the first day or two. I ended up with five males so I ll have to find homes for two.

Wow haha good to know. I think it'll be fine, I live on 160 acres. Neighbours are pretty far away :)
