Coop is finally almost done and is ready for chicks so just pick up 6 girls today!!!!!

It's been 8 months now and all 6 girls are doing great had to add more insulation to the coop and two ceramic heaters on the night we were -4 but just for the really cold nights other than that they've been fine with just straw. I did make the coop way to big for my small flock but with our snow I figured they needed the extra space when they could not go out other than the run. Most days we get 4-6 eggs so other than some soft shells we're doing great

Great to hear!! On the soft shells....are you giving them a calcium source like crushed oyster shell? It will harden the shells up. Give it free choice - they seem to know they need it and eat only the amount they need. Good luck to you!
