An employee at the local zoo found this pretty girl limping along the side of the road and picked her up, so I took her in. We're working through some respiratory stuff, but she's pretty healthy, and extremely sweet otherwise. I just can't figure out what she is!

She looks like a barred rock mix going through molt. Her stance and thick legs look similar to one of my cornish cross pullets.

It looks like some of @lpatelski cool Meat birds that she breeds!

@Grub Digger, she is definitely molting, and has some pretty bad feathers coming in, presumably from poor diet previously.

Thanks for the input!

I think it's a mix breed hen. Nothing about it resembles a cockerel @donrae

I'm looking at redness and amount of comb for the size of the bird, plus those tree trunk legs. Not knowing the age makes it less of a sure thing, but I'm banking on cockerel. For the OP I hope I'm wrong......

She is obviously a Cornish cross cross of some sort. Which would explain the tree trunks for legs.
