I picked up my new roo yesterday from justusnak. He is a real sweet guy. For some of the hens it was "love at first sight!" My ornery little wyandotte tried to scuffle with him but he put her in her place.
Today he's all about checking the place out. I didn't see him in the yard, and there he was in the coop, trying out one of the nest boxes. His name is Marigold. He is the color of marigolds. He is pretty as a picture! This is corny, but I was so excited to go out this morning to hear his first crow. It was music to my ears!!
I enjoyed meeting justusnak and her DH. They have such a nice place and lots of gorgeous chickens! (Not to mention turkeys- I have never seen baby turkeys before- sooo cute! Now I want turkeys too!
