Tuesday hubby went and bought everything to make the new run I had planned out for the chickens as my early b-day present (b-day the 5th) .
Wednesday I started the project. Cutting the wood, staining/waterproofing, making the frames and door, attaching the wire and door hardware. Hubby cut the wire for me.
Girls were not happy about being locked in the coop today. Had to remove temporary run. Raked the area to level it. Hubby held frames while I screwed them together. Then we put the tops and risers (to create slope for the tarp). While I cut the wire out for the coop door, hubby got the tarp ready. Girls were happy to be let out of the coop. Put the tarp on. Have a few min or things I decided to do, but all in all it is done. Hubby said they need a outside roost, and since they prefer a round roost, he will go get another closet dowel.
Happy with what it looks like, more important the girls are happy with it. It's 4 foot tall, I don't have to bend over much, I'm 4'9". Here is a picture of it.
