New Run

We had an escape chicken issue with the old run and a cat that became a repeat customer. So, good old hubby got out there and with parts of our old patio roof made the frame for the run, and we bought aviary netting. So far so good.

I love your coop. It looks like a lil ole red schoolhouse.
I recently put a net on one of my runs too.
Let's hope this does the trick and keeps them safe and secure closed inside their cozy coop at night.

By the way is that sand you have on the ground in the run?

The cat tried to return!
But haha, foiled.
We found him in the yard (the backyard) the day after the netting went up...we re-released the dogs into that area. Then yesterday (day 3 with the netting), I was inspecting the top as I have been everyday, and I found a place where the netting was pulled from the fencing, and area really to small for anything to get in (the back fence has old telephone poles against it with the netting going behind). I can totally fix it, but I am pretty sure it was the cat. but his plan for food was spoiled. YEAH.
If that cat gets in there will be no way out for him.

Hi, is your aviary netting from walmart or kmart or a general hardware store as if it is, it will become very brittle from the sun, winter plays heck with that type of netting also (If Its the light single plastic square hole stuff 1/2" type looking openings)

If it is not than just forget i mentioned it..But others can gain from this..

I had a freind use that type and a red tail blasted right through, how ever the red tail had a heck of a time getting back out..But did manage to break his way back threw it..

Nice job of covering the run area. I know you've got lots of raccoons up in Altadena; do you have trouble with them at night? They weight quite a bit. I'm wondering how does your top netting will do with this? I'm planning on just putting wire over the run; of course, your's is larger than mine.
