We purchased 2 hens Sunday and 1 Monday. The 2 we purchased Sunday are eating drinking running around and having a grand ol time. The one we purchased Monday not so much. She was purchased from a highly knowledgeable chicken guru you could say who is also with animal planet.

Bird has been vaccinated, is very beautiful and healthy or seemed to be until we got her home.

She hasnt eaten we don't believe, and won't drink unless we hold the bottle to her mouth abd squeeze a bit onto it. She knows how to drink from the bottle and a bowl but won't on her own unless we arent around but not sure if she is. She doesnt move much stays in one place and when we pick her up she sings like shes content. Just different from the others we have. Shes not being pecked by any other birds or intimidated in any way the other 2 silkies we have with her are cuddled up to her but go in and out of their little coop.

Could she be broody? They're notorious for that? I've rehomed broody hens mid-broody-ness.

Hmmm, maybe that's how she's coping (or not coping) with the stress of the transition. I'm glad the other birds aren't picking on her. Hopefully she'll come around soon!
