New Silkie Mom in NC

Yesterday, my 14 yo dd and I drove several hours to intercept Judy of Three Cedars Silkies on her way from FL to NC to get 10 gorgeous silkie babies.

So begins our new chicken saga. We had 4 Red Sex Link hens when we lived in AL a few years back and the kids and I really missed them. I raised chickens myself growing up. This is ostensibly a 4-H project but really, we just wanted chickens again and dd fell in love with Silkies via the internet. We will raise them at our house for 6 to 7 weeks and then they will live at a friends home where we are building a new coop and run together. We are in a HOA
