I bought a new silkie rooster, as an adult and he is around 6 months old, looking at his short nails and young looking feet. He seems to be very interested in the hens, he dances for them pecks at them to submitt, but he doesnt actually mount them and make contact. So far all the eggs pulled from this pen are infertile. Is there anything i should do, i trimmed both girls and the rooster feathers around their butts.
With time will he get it right? Or should i get a new rooster?
