New starter coop

We have a big pen for the adult chickens with a house for them to go in and then I just built this one for when the new chicks can leave my retreat room in the house before going in with the adults. It is next to the adult pen and the adults free range during the day a few hours so this way they can meet the youngsters without hurting anyone

Very nice for a starter coop. Make sure there’s plenty of ventilation. I don’t see any in this picture. How many birds?

That’s what this is...I call it my mini coop. We built it in our coop for the purpose of integrating the chicks. There’s a momma hen in there with them that was broody and hatched 4 of them. Love having it!!!

There are 10 young chickens in there vthere is a little door off the coop that is always open for ventilation. They are almost ready to be moved to the big girl coop.
